It is being reported at 3dprint.com through an annonymous employee that MakerBot is and has been aware of the fact the new Smart Extruder included in all 5th generation MakerBot Replicators are faulty. This has resulted is real dissapointment for consumers that have purchased the new replicators. According to the article MakerBot knew about the issue before releasing the product. Although nothing is confirmed it is being speculated that MakerBot is going to be releasing a replacement to coincide with CES 2015. This is great for customers who MakerBot admitted they haven’t been responding fast enough to issues.

Hopefully future printer releases from MakerBot will avoid such complications.
